Not necessarily in a bad way. But today was a really really long day. Got up, got breakfast and made lunch (sandwich and banana and cheesy potatoes) and drove to work, which started at 9:00. Worked until 5:45ish, came home, drove to Anna’s and then to her mom’s office to try and get some more painting done. I came home pretty soon after that because we ran out of paint and just couldn’t muster the ambition to do anything about it. I felt a strong need to get on my bike once I got home, and that’s when my day started improving. I flew—like seriously flew—up the first hill, 18mph and dancing on the pedals. Kept the pace pretty high through some gravel, up another hill but this time longer and more gradual, and hauled ass once I was on pavement again, all the way back home. It was still a short ride but I know for sure you can replace quantity with quality at least once a week. I’ve taken the last 3 days off, and before that I’d been riding pretty high mileage for a couple of weeks so it was a perfect amount of recovery to feel super tonight. Having some Grouplove in your ears doesn’t hurt either.
